DC Comics Art Academy

Immensely talented fan-favorite DC Comics’ artists Mirka Andolfo, Jamal Campbell and Mitch Gerads demonstrate their unique visual approaches to drawing the iconic DC Superhero ‘Batman’ at their 2019 Fan Expo Canada “DC Art Academy” panel in Toronto.
Mirka Andolfo is an Italian artist mainly known for her work at DC Comics with “Bombshells” and “JLA: Killer Frost,” at Marvel on “Ms. Marvel” and for her creator-owned series Sacro/Profano and Contronatura which are published in many countries.
Jamal Campbell is a freelance illustrator and comic book artist working out of Toronto, Canada.
Mitch Gerads is an American comic book artist and colorist who has made a career out of bringing humanity and realism to the superhuman and unreal. He is best known for his much-lauded work at DC Comics with writer Tom King on Mister Miracle, Batman and The Sheriff of Babylon. He has also worked on The Punisher, The Activity and Doctor Who.
DC Comics, Inc. is an American comic book publisher — one of the largest and oldest American comic book companies — and produces material featuring numerous culturally iconic heroic characters including: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Shazam, Martian Manhunter, Nightwing, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Supergirl and Batgirl. Most of their material takes place in the fictional DC Universe, which also features teams such as the Justice League, the Teen Titans, the Justice Society of America, Justice League Dark and the Suicide Squad, and well-known villains such as Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Brainiac, The Joker, Catwoman, Doomsday, Cheetah, Professor Zoom, Sinestro, Black Manta, Harley Quinn, Black Adam and Deathstroke. The company has also published non-DC Universe-related material, including Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and many titles under their alternative imprint Vertigo. The initials “DC” came from the company’s popular series Detective Comics, which featured Batman’s debut and subsequently became part of the company’s name.
