Doug Jones (Star Trek Discovery, Hellboy, Shape of Water) at Niagara Falls Comic Con 2019

The remarkable Doug Jones — best known for his roles in the “Hellboy” film series, “Pan’s Labyrinth,” Best Picture winner “The Shape of Water” and as Commander Saru in “Star Trek: Discovery” since 2017 — discusses his career, shares behind-the-scenes stories and answers fan questions at his 2019 Niagara Falls Comic Con Q&A panel.

Doug Jones (born May 24th, 1960) is an American actor, contortionist and mime who is known for his multiple collaborations with filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, starring in “Mimic” (1997), as Abe Sapien in “Hellboy” (2004) and “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” (2008), the Faun and the Pale Man in “Pan’s Labyrinth” (2006), the ghosts of Edith’s Mother and Beatrice Sharpe in “Crimson Peak” (2015) and the Amphibian Man in “The Shape of Water” (2017). Some of his other films credits include “Hocus Pocus” (1993), “Tank Girl” (1995), the superhero film “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” (2007) wherein he portrayed the titular character and “The Bye Bye Man” (2017). Jones has appeared in the television series “”Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (1999), Falling Skies” (2013-2015) and del Toro’s “The Strain” (2014-2016) to name a few.
