A HUGE thank you to the talented Osric Chau — a former “Supernatural” cast member who portrayed the young prophet ‘Kevin Tran’ — for collaborating with The Convention Junkies by allowing us access to his recordings of the final “Supernatural” panel in ‘Hall H’ at SDCC 2019. He films events like this “for the fans,” so please show him your thanks and support by visiting his links:
Osric Chau from Vancouver, Canada trained in martial arts for years with aspirations to become a stunt performer when he landed his first leading role alongside the late David Carradine in “Kung Fu Killer” (2008). The following year, alongside veteran actors John Cusack and Thandie Newton, he portrayed Nima, the Tibetan monk in Roland Emmerich’s “2012” which grossed over $760 million worldwide. On the heels of that success, Osric went to work on the Chinese remake of “What Women Want” (2012) with Andy Lau and Li Gong, and “The Man with the Iron Fists” (2012) with Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu and director, writer, actor and rap musician RZA. He landed another leading role in Paramount’s “Fun Size” (2012) with stars Victoria Justice, Thomas Mann, Jane Levy, Chelsea Handler, Josh Pence and Johnny Knoxville. In 2012, Osric began a character arc on “Supernatural” as Kevin Tran — high school genius turned prophet — a character he played on the show over 18 episodes in seasons 7, 8, 9 and 11. This impactful role led him to other prolific projects including series like “Blood and Water” (2015), “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” (2016-2017) and “Demon X” (2019).
