Wasuta: The World Standard (Jpop Idol Group) at Anime North 2019 in Toronto

The five members of Japanese Jpop idol group “Wa–suta: The World Standard” — Hazuki Sakamoto (坂元 葉月), Nanase Hirokawa (廣川 奈々聖), Miri Matsuda (松田 美里), Ririka Kodama (小玉 梨々華) and Ruka Mishina (三品 瑠香) — discuss their careers, reveal behind-the-scenes stories and answers fan questions at their 2019 Anime North Q&A panel in Toronto.

Wasuta (わーすた) was formed in 2015 by Avex Trax as iDOL Street’s fourth idol group. They represent a digital-age idol generation and work to spread “Kawaii Japan Idol” culture using social media and “real idol” activities. Since 2016, Wasuta has released two full albums, two mini-albums and five singles. In the Summer of 2018, they collaborated with Adexe & Nau on a Japanese/Spanish remix of the single “Yo Quiero Vivir.” The group has performed several times outside of Japan, including Japan Expo Paris 2017, Japan Weekend Madrid 2018, Japan Expo Thailand 2017, 2018 and 2019, Kizuna 2018 in Vietnam, and Anime North 2019 in Canada.
