Wynonna Earp Cast Q&A – Calgary Expo 2018 – Full Panel

Returning for its third season, the creators and cast of the supernatural thriller “Wynonna Earp” dish on their adventures so far and tease what’s yet to come for Wynonna and her crew as they continue to battle demons across the ‘Ghost River Triangle.’ Fan-favourite Greg Lawson (Sheriff Nedley) made his first ever convention appearance alongside fellow “Wynonna” stars Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp), Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp), Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Katherine Barrell (Officer Nicole Haught), Varun Saranga (Jeremy Chetri) and showrunner Emily Andras (Wynonna Earp, Lost Girl, Killjoys).

Wynonna Earp is a comic series by Beau Smith that Emily Andras developed into a hybrid supernatural/horror/western television series that premiered April 1st, 2016. The show follows Wynonna Earp, the great-great-granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, as she struggles to rid her hometown of Revenants (reincarnated outlaws that Wyatt killed). The Earp family’s curse causes Revenants to seek vengeance by killing the oldest living Earp descendant, and ALL Revenants are revived whenever the oldest Earp descendant turns 27 — which Wynonna did at the beginning of the show. But, she also inherited the mystical power to RETURN these Revenants to Hell using Wyatt’s original ‘Colt Buntline Special,’ six-chamber, long barrel revolver known as “Peacemaker,” and the curse can be broken if ALL 77 Revenants are killed with it. She must also confront other supernatural beings that inhabit the Ghost River Triangle (a cursed territory near the Canadian Rockies that includes her home town of Purgatory), so she is recruited by the Black Badge Division, a secret government agency led by Special Agent Xavier Dolls which eventually includes an ageless Doc Holliday and Wynonna’s sister, Waverly Earp. Nicole Haught, Waverly’s girlfriend and a Purgatory Sheriff’s Deputy, assists the team in her local police role. Melanie Scrofano plays the series’ titular character.

The first season centers on Wynonna fighting the revenants who kidnapped her older sister Willa from their homestead when they were girls, and the threat posed by Bobo Del Rey, leader of the local revenants. In the second season, Wynonna discovers she is pregnant, while Waverly struggles with possession by a demon and doubts about her lineage. At the same time, two sister-wife widows of the dead sheriff who cursed Wyatt Earp seek to resurrect him.
